What started as a “rowdy tradition” to eat, drink and be merry before Lent is now the world’s largest winter carnival. Quebec’s Winter Carnival is now ongoing and ends on the 17th of February.
This weather didn’t stop event participants from taking out their phones to snap some photos. Check out the hashtag page to see what people are documenting, or simply follow their snowman spokesman - Bonhomme Carnaval at @bhcarnaval.

Found: Hashtag #Frostflowers
After reading about an ocean with flowers everywhere, we wondered if Instagramers were capturing these ‘icy flowers’ with their mobile cameras. This beautiful formation is actually referred to as frost flowers.
They aren’t actual flowers, but their formations resemble one.
While the article we read referred to the frost flowers that form on the border of sea and air, the ones we saw on the hashtag page were mostly frozen saps from plants.
